New Haven, Conn. - As a first-year program, coached by stand-out swimming instructors Lauren Pallone and graduate assistant Jennifer Long, the Albertus Magnus College women's swimming and diving team has been recognized for its outstanding academic achievements, being named to the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Fall 2019 Scholar All-America Team and placed four student-athletes on the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Fall 2019 All-Academic Team.

The Falcons put together a cumulative team GPA of 3.17 and was one of only eight Division III teams to earn All-America honors for the first time. To qualify for the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Award, a program must post a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher within the designated semester.

The Falcons were also one of a few Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) teams to earn the honor, sharing the accolade with Simmons University, Norwich University, Saint Joseph's College of Maine, Colby-Sawyer College, and Regis (Mass.) College.

Freshman Joselyn Streeto (New Haven, Conn.), sophomore Megan Anderson (Levittown, N.Y.), freshman Arle Cruceta (Salcedo, Dominican Republic), and freshman Crisbeth Castañeda (Guatemala City, Guatemala) were the four student-athletes who represented the Falcons on the NEISDA Fall 2019 All-Academic Team. In order for a swimmer or diver to make the All-Academic Team, the student-athlete must have a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The women's swimming and diving team will compete in the GNAC Championships this weekend, Jan. 31 - Feb. 2, at the Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley, Mass and Simmons Univeristy in Boston, Mass.
