Seven First-Place Finishes Highlights Women's Swimming Victory at SUNY Dehli

DEHLI, N.Y. — For the first triumph this season, the Albertus Magnus College women's swimming & diving team clenched a 101-64 win at SUNY Dehli on Saturday thanks to seven first-place finishes, including a pair each by Maria Estrada (Guatemala City, Guatemala) and Sophie Olander (Amston, Conn).

Estrada came out on top in the 100 yard IM with a time of 1:10.55 and in the 100 yard back stroke for a time of 1:21.52. Olander finishes first in the 500 yard freestyle and in the 1000 yard freestyle with times of 6:42.44 and 13:48.87, respectively. The Falcons secured wins in both the 200 yard medley relay and in the 200 yard freestyle relay. Chloe Oliver (Milford, Conn. ) placed first in the 200 yard freestyle at 2:35.12.

Nicole Irizarry (New Haven, Conn.) recorded a personal-best times in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 7:09.75 to capture second place and in the 1000 yard freestyle for second place with a time of 15:50.79. Lourdes Rodriguez (East Hartford, Conn.) posted a career-best in the 50 yard freestyle after coming in third at 32.72. Newcomer Emily Morales (Southington, Conn.) swam a personal records in the 100 yard freestyle to earn second at 1:13.72, in the 200 yard freestyle for second place with a time of 2:40.25 and in the 100 yard IM for third for a time of 1:25.26.
