NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Silvia Valeria Avila Estrada (Zapopan, Mexico) of the Albertus Magnus College women's swimming team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for her performance against Elms in a meet which took place on Saturday.

In the 139-97 triumph over Elms, Avila Estrada set program records in her wins in the 50-yard breaststroke (33.50) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.43) and also won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.76.

Avila Estrada also swam a leg in the 200-yard freestyle relay which finished first and set a school record with a time of 1:55.94.
