Avila Estrada Continues to Earn Gold at the GNAC Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. — First-year Silvia Valeria Avila Estrada (Zapopan, Mexico) earned the top mark in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:34.69 as the Albertus Magnus College women's swimming & diving team competed at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship hosted by WPI on Saturday. The Falcons are seventh with 147 points, while Norwich University (635), Simmons University (588) and University of Saint Joseph's (Conn.) (342) are the top three after day two.

Avila Estrada outswam second-place finisher Julia Long from Simmons by 5.32 seconds to secure the first-place medal.

Albertus kicks off day three of the Championships on Sunday at 10 a.m.
