Blue Jays Blank Falcons 9-0 in Women's Tennis

The Albertus Magnus women's tennis team fell to the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) Blue Jays 9-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Monday afternoon.
 
Led by Lisa Wawrzynowski, the Blue Jays improved to 2-9 on the year, as she won both No. 1 singles over the Falcons' Sandybell Anorga and No. 1 doubles with teammate Amanda Willhoft. With the loss, the Falcons moved to 1-7 overall.
 
Na'Tasha Mesidor led the Falcons despite the loss as she battled in a close No. 2 singles, losing in a pair of 7-6 sets to USJ's Willhoft.
 
Senior Gina D'Agostino also fought hard in her singles' match as she was edged by April Loteczka by scores of 7-6, 6-3 in the third singles position.
 
The Falcons will travel to Mount Ida on Friday, Oct. 12 to take on the Mustangs in a 3:30 p.m. match.
