Women's Tennis Picked 5th In GNAC Preseason Poll

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's tennis team was picked to finish fifth as the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) preseason poll was released.

The Falcons earned seven voting points.

Colby-Sawyer was picked first with 24 voting points, including four first-place votes. University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) was picked second with 17 voting points, including one first-place votes. Regis rounded out the top three, earning 14 voting points.

Albertus opens up its season on the road against Rhode Island Col. on Saturday, August 31 beginning at 12:00 p.m. The Falcons start conference play at home on Tuesday, September 3 against University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) at 4:00 p.m.

Teams will complete a four-game single round robin conference season with the top-four teams at the end of the regular season qualifying for the 2024 GNAC Women’s Tennis Championship Tournament. The semifinal round is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12 with the championship match a week later on Saturday, Oct. 19. The winner of that match will be named the 2024 GNAC Women’s Tennis Champion and earn the league’s automatic qualifier into the 2025 NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championship in the spring.
