Women's Tennis Split Singles Matches, But Drop Match To Sarah Lawrence

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Albertus Magnus College women's tennis team lost a close 4-3 match to Sarah Lawrence College on Friday evening in a non-conference match.

The doubles team of JuJu Oliver (New Britain, Conn.) and Julianna Sigut (Litchfield, Conn.) won their doubles no. 1 match, 7-6, but the Falcons dropped no. 2 and no. 3 to give Sarah Lawrence the point.

The Falcons and Gryphons split a highly-competitive singles portion of the match. 

In singles no. 1, Oliver picked up her first win of the season in convincing fashion, winning, 6-1, 6-1 over Neomi Spellman. During the singles no. 2 match, Osiana Brown (New Haven, Conn.) topped Zoe Kovac, 6-2, 6-1 for her first career win.

The Falcons picked up a win in singles no. 3 as Sigut took care of Kyra Johnsen in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.

Albertus is now 0-3 on the season. Sarah Lawrence moves to 1-0.

The Falcons will face Lehman on the road on Saturday for a noon start.
