Falcons Drop Two GNAC Volleyball Matches

In its first match of the Saturday afternoon league trimatch, the Albertus Magnus women's volleyball team fell to Saint Joseph's College of Maine 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-13).  Albertus was led by senior Melissa Manning (Milford, Conn.) with eight kills and eight digs, while freshman Caitlin Prete (Milford, Conn.) tallied seven digs, four kills and four service aces.

The Falcons dropped its first match after winning seven straight as they fell to 8-5 on the year. 

Amber Cohens (Hamden, Conn.) added three kills in 10 tries for the Falcons, while Lily Dy (Torrington, Conn.) handed out 15 assists to go along with seven digs.

The Monks were led by Felicia Wachowiak with 13 kills in 17 attempts and Erica Russi with a match-high 22 digs.

In their second match of the day, the Falcons fell to the University of Saint Joseph 3-0 (25-, 15, 25-16, 25-15).  Ciara Perez led Saint Joseph with 10 kills and eight digs.

Ramona Onofrio (East Haven, Conn.) tallied three service aces and four digs.  Manning led all Falcons nine kills and 10 digs, while Prete added four kills, six digs and six assists.

The Falcons will play at Emmanuel on Saturday for a trimatch and will take on the Saints at noon.
