In its second match of the night in Boston, the Albertus Magnus women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-14) decision to Simmons College.

With the loss, the Falcons' record evens out to 9-9, while they fall to 1-5 in conference play.

Simmons was led with five players hitting over .250 as the Sharks improved to 7-18 overall with the victory and 4-1 in league action.

Offensively, the Falcons were led by senior Melissa Manning (Milford, Conn.) with nine kills, while Taylor DePalma (East Haven, Conn.) tallied three in seven attempts.  Senior Lily Dy (Torrington, Conn.) handed out 14 assists in the match to go along with two digs.

Amy Seliga (East Haven, Conn.) added three kills for the Falcons, while Caitlin Prete (Milford, Conn.) tallied two kills and six digs for the Falcons.

Sophomore Alyssa Puccilli (Milford, Conn.) led the team with 15 digs as she picked up seven from set number three alone. Manning added five digs, while Leanna Velez (Waterbury, Conn.) also had five.

On the night, the Falcons recorded 18 kills and 21 hitting errors as they struggled at the net.

The first set saw Simmons jump out to a large 10-3 lead before an Albertus timeout.  A serving attack by Simmons' Chamberlin, including three service aces and seven-straight points, gave the Sharks a commanding 18-5 lead.  The Falcons battled back with a 5-1 run as freshman Caitlin Prete served those points during the Falcons' run, while both Melissa Manning and Amy Seliga recorded kills.  Simmons halted the Falcons' comeback and took the set by a score of 25-13 to set the tone of the match.

Simmons won both the second and third frames with a pair of 25-14 sets.

Albertus returns to action on Monday, Oct. 14 as they play at Rivier University in Nashua, N.H.  That single match is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
