A NEW WEEK
The Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team prepares for three matches this in the week ahead as the Falcons host New Jersey City University on Tuesday evening before resuming GNAC play with a tri-match against Lasell and Johnson and Wales on Saturday.

WEEK FIVE RECAP

Game 16: Albertus Magnus 3 | SUNY Purchase 1 – RECAP/ BOX SCORE
Game 16 Highlights:

• The trio of Genesis Cora Luquis (Meriden, Conn.), Kimberly Keller (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Delaney Ruiz (Meriden, Conn.) combined for 29 total kills, including a team-high 12 from Luquis.
• Keller added three blocks, while setter Marielis Muriel (New Haven, Conn.) dished 34 assists. Muriel also contributed 15 digs on the defensive end.

Game 17: Albertus Magnus 3 | Anna Maria 0 – RECAP/ BOX SCORE
Game 17 Highlights:

• The Falcons hit .262 at the net behind a 38-kill performance, including a team-high 13 kills from freshman Kimberly Keller (Bridgeport, Conn.).
• Sophomore Jesselle Guzman (Santa Teresa, N.M.) and freshman Genesis Cora Luquis (Meriden, Conn.) led the Falcons in digs with 12 apiece.

Game 18: Suffolk 3 | Albertus Magnus 2 – RECAP/ BOX SCORE
Game 18 Highlights:

• Senior Nicole Beard (Shelton, Conn.) tied her career-high 39 assists as well as recorded six aces, five kills and 10 digs.
• Sophomore Ashley David (West Islip, N.Y.) and freshman Kimberly Keller (Bridgeport, Conn.) led the Falcons' attack with 10 kills.

The Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team was picked to finish 13th in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll.

A QUICK LOOK BACK AT LAST YEAR

• The women's volleyball team ended the 2016 fall season with a 7-20 overall record and landed in 12th-place in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with a 0-11 mark in league action.
• Head Coach Vanessa Rosario guided the Falcons to non-conference wins against York, Elms, Purchase State, Medgar Evers and CCNY.
• Albertus Magnus swept the season series with York and Medgar Evers, defeating both the Cardinals and Cougars twice during the autumn.
• The team also won back-to-back matches on two separate occasions in 2016.
• Albertus Magnus opened the year with two straight wins at the Blazer Invitational hosted by Elms.

UP NEXT
The Falcons return to action next week against Mitchell, Staten Island, Regis (Mass.) and Saint Joseph's of Maine.
