NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team split a home Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match on Saturday afternoon, defeating Dean College 3-1 in the opener for the team's first league win of the season. The Falcons dropped match two by 3-1 final score to Norwich University.

- The Falcons' offense was humming in the first two sets, hitting to the tune of .278 in set one and .227 in set two to pick up two convincing wins.
- The Bulldogs rallied in the third set to cut Albertus' lead to 2-1.
- AMC kicked things back into gear in the fourth, using a stellar service game and taking advantage of the visitors' mistakes to lock up the match with a 25-20 triumph.
- Elayna Beutel (Prospect, Conn.) was outstanding in the opener, pacing the team with 14 kills while maintaining a .520 attack percentage over 25 swings.
- Beutel also led the home squad with four solo blocks.
- Jaiden Williams (Orange, Conn.) was just as impactful offensively, tallying 29 assists on the team's 38 kills.
- Williams finished with a double-double on 29 assists and 10 digs, in addition to five service aces.
- Defensively, Diana Kalman (East Haven, Conn.) paced the Falcons with a season-high 19 digs.

- The Cadets owned a hitting-percentage advantage in all three sets, recording marks of .214, .120, and .121 to earn the sweep.
- However, Albertus did not let this deter itself as the Falcons came just short of pulling off a furious comeback in the third set.
- Just like she was in set one, Beutel was AMC's best offensive threat, leading the team with seven kills in the nightcap.
- Williams continued her stellar day, posting 18 assists against Norwich for a combined 47 on the day.
- Ivanna Sanfeliz (Dorado, Puerto Rico) led the way for Albertus on defense, posting a team-leading 14 digs.
- Kalman was also strong on the other side of the ball, finishing the nightcap with a team-high four blocks.
