Falcons Bested on Road Against Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team dropped a straight-set match to Connecticut College in the Falcons' final non-conference contest of the 2021 season on the road on Wednesday, Oct. 27.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Camels struck the ball well in all three sets tonight, hitting .250 in the first, .182 in the second, and .175 in the third.
  • The Falcons, on the other hand, were at their best in the third set, attacking to the tune of .111 to just drop a hard-fought 25-20 decision.
  • Leading the way for the Albertus offense was Elayna Beutel (Prospect, Conn.), as she finished the evening with a team-best four kills.
  • Jaiden Williams (Orange, Conn.) assisted on most of the team's attacks, tallying seven assists on the Falcons' 11 kills.
  • Diana Kalman (East Haven, Conn.) had a stellar night defensively, pacing the visitors with nine digs and two total blocks.
  • Taina Vargas (Bridgeport, Conn.) & Joismar Avilés (Hatillo, Puerto Rico) ended the night with one ace.

UP NEXT
The Falcons will wrap up the 2021 campaign on Saturday, Oct. 30, with a road Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match at Emmanuel (Mass.) College. Albertus plays the hosts Saints first at 9 a.m. before challenging Colby-Sawyer College at 1 p.m.
