Women's Volleyball Sweeps Lehman in Non-League Play

BRONX, N.Y. - The Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team employed a team effort Thursday evening to pick up a convincing road straight-set win over Lehman College in the Bronx, N.Y.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS
• The Falcons cruised in the opening set of the match, winning the first by a dominant final score of 25-9.
Diana Kalman (East Haven, Conn.) was exceptional at the service line for AMC, tallying a whopping seven aces in the opening set.
• Albertus continued to cruise in the second set, going ahead 2-0 after a 25-18 win.
• The Falcons put the finishing touches on their victory with a 25-22 triumph in the third frame.
Shalese Gordon (Bridgeport, Conn.) had a tremendous all-around match, tallying four kills, 11 assists, and eight digs, all of which led the team.
• Freshmen Da'Veona Parker (New Haven, Conn.) and Alexys Signor (North Haven, Conn.) also finished tied for the team lead in digs with eight each.
• Gordon tied Colleen Edwards (Clinton, Conn.) and Nathalie Wallace (Rocky Hill, Conn.) for the team lead in kills with four.

NOTEWORTHY
• Tonight's match is the fifth all-time meeting between the Falcons and Lightning.
• Albertus is 5-0 all-time versus Lehman.
• Signor and Parker each tallied season-highs with eight digs.
• Gordon's 11 assists and eight digs are both season highs.
• Kalman's seven aces are a new career-high for the senior.

UP NEXT
The Falcons hit the road for an away tri-match on Saturday, Sept. 10, at St. Joseph's (L.I.) College. The opening match at 12 p.m. will see Albertus battle Hartwick College before AMC challenges the hosts Golden Eagles at 2 p.m.
