WESTON, Mass. - The Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team opened the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) slate this afternoon with a tri-match split at Regis (Mass.) College. The Falcons opened the tri-match with a convincing straight-set win over Dean College before dropping the nightcap to the host Pride.

• The Falcons were at their best in the first set, maintaining a match-high .158 hitting percentage on their way to earning a 25-12 win.
• Albertus did not let the Bulldogs off the hook in the second or third sets, posting 25-22 and 25-17 wins to earn the straight-set league victory.
• Diana Kalman (East Haven, Conn.) was on fire in the first set, as she finished with a match-high 13 kills and five blocks.
• Rachael Pellegrini (Clinton, Conn.) orchestrated the AMC offense by tallying 15 assists on the team's 25 kills.
• Joismar Avilés (Hatillo, Puerto Rico) continued her hot streak at the service line, posting four aces, her second straight match with four-plus aces.
• Peyton Davis (North Haven, Conn.) led the defense with a season-high, tying 12 digs.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS
• The Pride was the model of consistency in the nightcap, winning the match in straight sets without allowing more than 10 points to the Falcons.
• Kalman continued her outstanding senior season, finishing the second match with a team-leading six kills.
• Pellegrini added seven assists against the Pride to her total for the day.
• On defense, Taina Vargas (Bridgeport, Conn.) was one dig shy of the match-high with seven against Regis.
