NEW HAVEN, Conn. - In a five-set thriller, the Albertus Magnus College Women's Volleyball team lost a 3-2 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match to in-state rival Mitchell College on Wednesday evening.

HIGHLIGHTS
The Falcons took set one after finishing on a 10-3 run after the game was knotted up, 15-15. In the deciding run, Colleen Edwards (Clinton, Conn.) had three kills and Yarelis Torres (East Haven, Conn.) finished the set with a kill off an assist from Shalese Gordon (Bridgeport, Conn.). Both teams finished with ten kills in the set.
Mitchell dominated set two, scoring 15 straight points behind the play of Bliss Brown, taking a 19-2 lead. Brown had 12 of her team-high 33 kills in the set.
The Mariners again got off to another hot start in the third set, taking a 12-5 lead, but this time the Falcons were able to bounce back with a 14-4 run, taking advantage of nine errors from Mitchell and two kills from Edwards.
Mitchell tied the match in the fourth set, scoring the final six points. Sarah Aviles scored four of the final six points for the Mariners. The Falcons had five kills in the set from five different players. Brown had eight kills in the set for Mitchell.
In the deciding fifth set, the two teams could not separate from each other early on. On two occasions, the Mariners took a two-point lead. Down 6-4, the Falcons tied the set as Kanishjoary Marrero-Martinez (Schenectady, N.Y.) had a kill followed by an ace from Da'Veona Parker (New Haven, Conn.). Mitchell was able to pull away in the end, scoring the final two points, including an ace from Allison Blum to end the match.
