NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Majo Pelaez (Armenia, Colombia) and Shalese Gordon (Bridgeport, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team were both named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Honor Roll after the first week of the 2024 season.

Albertus went 2-0 during the opening weekend tri-match, securing a 3-0 win over Curry followed by a thrilling 3-2 win over Salem State after dropping the first two sets.

In the win over Curry on Saturday, Pelaez had a team-high 10 kills with a .571 attack percentage to with four service aces.

Against Salem State, Pelaez had a team-high 24 kills with 12 digs and an ace, accounting for 26 of the team's points during the match. It was the sixth match in her career where she registered 20 or more kills.

Gordon had 16 assists , five digs and an ace in the win over Curry and had the best game of her career in the win over Salem State.

Against the Vikings, Gordon had a career-high 41 assists, five kills and 13 digs.

The 3-0 Falcons return to action on Thursday, September 5 as they host Purchase at 7 p.m.
