NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Albertus Magnus College volleyball team fell to Great Northeast Athletic Conference opponent Dean College in straight sets (25-23, 25-19, 25-15) on Tuesday in The Nest.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Dean jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening set, but Albertus battled back, and a tight contest ensued throughout the frame. The Falcons went on a five-point scoring run capped off by back-to-back aces by Alexys Signor (North Haven, Conn.), while Emma Fallon (Harwinton, Conn.) delivered the set-tying kill to make it 6-6.
• Dean again jumped out to an early lead in the second frame, only to see the hosts return to tie it at 14. After being down 4-1, Nathalie Wallace (Rocky Hill, Conn.) sent the ball past a wall of Bulldogs for the kill to ignite a 13-10 rally by the Falcons to knot it at 14.
• It was back and forth from there, tied at 17 and 19. The Bulldogs took control down the stretch to take a 2-0 lead.
• The visitors took an early lead in the third set before earning the match point for the win.
