  • The first set featured six lead changes as no one was able to take a larger lead than four points, which Elms did on two different occasions. With Albertus trailing 15-11 an ace from Matheus and  two kills from Pelaez and one from Richards put the Falcons up 17-15. A 6-1 run followed from Elms to give the Blazers a 21-18 lead after back-to-back kills from Quiana Gibbs. However, kills from Richards and Matheus made it a 22-22 set before Gibbs gave Elms the lead back with a kill. The Falcons then finished the set with a bang as they scored the final three points, including two kills from Pelaez to take the 1-0 lead in the match. Pelaez had seven kills in the set. Matheus and Richards had two.
