HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Majo Pelaez (Armenia, Colombia) delivered 17 of the Albertus Magnus College volleyball team's 31 kills for the three-set sweep (25-19, 25-11, 25-23) on the road at Cenetary (N.J.) in John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center on Thursday.
Pelaez leads the team with 219 kills this season for a 3.26 kill-per-set ratio and moved to third on the Great Northeast Athletic Conference stat leader list.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Centenary (N.J.) struck first in the opening set, but a kill by Shalese Gordon (Bridgeport, Conn.) knotted the score 1-1 off the well-delivered assist by Da'Veona Parker (New Haven, Conn.) to ignite a 7-1 Albertus serving run by Gordon and put the visitors up, 8-2.
- The Cyclones regained composure for a 13-point rally to bring it to within one point, 12-11, as the two teams traded points until an ace Jenny Thistlethwaite tied it at 14 apiece.
- A spike by Nathalie Wallace (Rocky Hill, Conn.) sealed the first-set victory for the Falcons, 25-19.
- Gordon led off the next set with an ace as the visitors dominated the second with a 24-11 rally to secure the win.
- The home team opened the final set with a 5-4 rally before a bad set tied it up and a kill by Alyssa Valentine (Bristol, Conn.) put the Falcons back in control.
- The third set remained close and knotted for the second time at eight off a kill by Thistlethwaite.
- A kill by Peleaz brought Albertus 22-18 after a close competition from the teams, followed by a pair of kills by Emma Fallon (Harwinton, Conn. ) and Peleaz delivered the two remaining points to complete the sweep.
