Pelaez And Matheus Named To CSC Academic All-District Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Majo Pelaez (Armenia, Colombia) and Paula Matheus (Tunja-Boyaca, Colombia) of the Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team were both named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender. Selection to the team was contingent on student-athletes appearing in at least 50 percent of their teams' games and hosting a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50-or-higher.

It is the first time both Pelaez and Matheus have been named to the team.

Pelaez, a management in marketing major, was third in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in kills with 335 and fifth in kills per set at 3.19. She also averaged 3.7 points per set, good for sixth in the GNAC.

Matheus had 30 solo blocks on the season, which ranks her second in the GNAC and 63 total blocks which put her ninth.
