The Albertus Magnus women's cross country team ran to a second–place finish at the Post University Invitational at Black Rock Park in Watertown, Conn. on Friday afternoon.
Veronica Blekis led the charge for the Falcons as she finished in 12th place with a time of 23:13. She was the fourth female finisher in the co-ed race, which was won by Albertus men's cross country standout John Snow (18:41).
The Falcons recorded 37 team points, while Post took first place with 18.
Alisha Darin took 15th place with a time of 24:41, while Lianna Carerro tallied a 35:15 finishing time, which was good for 18th.
Brianna Lord and Amy Mirto finished in 22nd and 24th to round out the Albertus finishers as they recorded times of 37:37 and 38:46.
The Falcons will be back in action on Oct. 23 as they compete at the College of Staten Island Invitational. That race is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
