Women's Cross Country Takes 11th at GNAC Championship

The Albertus Magnus women's cross country team took 11th place at the 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Cross Country Championship on Saturday afternoon in Standish, Maine.

Jocelyn Burgos was the Falcons' first finisher as she placed 58th in a time of 27:44.  Lianna Carrero took 68th place with a time of 31:58, while Leyna Andren followed at 69th in 32:26.

Emmanuel College won the championship crown with 48 points, while Saint Joseph's College of Maine took second with 66 points and Simmons took third with 69 points.  Saint Joseph's College took the top-three individual spots led by 2013 GNAC Runner of the Year Amber Dostie who finished in the first place with a time of 20:32.

The Monks' Lauren Radideau took second with a time of 20:38, while Heather Easton was third at 20:53.

Norwich's Chapel Guarnieri was named the 2013 GNAC Rookie of the Year as she was the top rookie finisher in fifth place with a time of 21:10.  Saint Joseph's Ray Putnam was named the 2013 GNAC Coach of the Year as well.

Lindsay Karle and Rebecca Weinberger also finished for the Falcons with times of 32:48 and 34:06, respectively.
