  • Two Falcons Named to NABC Honors Court

    Albertus Magnus College men’s basketball players James Economopoulos (Wallingford, Conn.) and Julian Sanders (Trumbull, Conn.) have been named to the 2012-13 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, as announced by the association on Wednesday afternoon. The NABC Honors Court recognizes those collegiate men’s basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics throughout the school year.

  • 2012-13 GNAC All-Academic Team Announced

    The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced the All-Academic Team for the 2012-13 school year. Thirty-six student-athletes from Albertus Magnus College were among the 757 members of the Academic Team from 13 full-time institutions and 12 affiliate member institutions in the conference. The student-athletes selected had to meet the following criteria: maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average, complete at least one full season of competition at a GNAC institution and is of sophomore status academically.

Darius Watson (New Britain, Conn.), Arshad Jackson (Hartford, Conn.) and Jefferson Lora (Bronx, N.Y.) earned spots on the All-Conference Teams.

    Jefferson Lora (Bronx, N.Y.) scored 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Albertus Magnus men’s basketball team to an 84-65 GNAC Tournament victory over Rivier on Tuesday night. The Falcons will now host Johnson & Wales (R.I.) on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7:00 p.m.

His jumper with 2:10 left in regulation made the senior guard the 13th all-time Albertus Magnus men’s basketball player to reach the coveted 1,000-point milestone.
