    The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced the All-Academic Team for the 2013-14 school year. This year, 58 student-athletes from Albertus Magnus College were among the 765 members of the Academic Team from 12 full-time institutions and 13 associate member institutions in the conference.

    Senior Darius Watson (New Britain, Conn.) and junior Victor Ljuljdjuraj (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) of the Albertus Magnus men’s basketball team have been named 2014 ECAC Division III New England All-Star Teams as announced this week by the ECAC. Watson was named to the First Team, while Ljuljdjuraj was named to the Second Team.

  • Oliver Named a Finalist for National Coach of the Year

    Seventh-year head coach Mitch Oliver of the Albertus Magnus men's basketball team has been named one of the 12 finalists for the 2014 Glenn Robinson National Coach of the Year award. The Glenn Robinson Award is presented annually to the top Division III men's basketball coach in the nation. Oliver was a finalist in 2012 as well.

    The Albertus Magnus men's basketball team has been ranked No. 12 in the final D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll of the 2013-14 season to earn the best ranking in program history. The ranking puts the Falcons in the Top-25 poll for nine-straight weeks as the moved up one spot from its previous ranking of #13.
  • Watson Named NABC All-American

    Albertus Magnus College is proud to announce that men's basketball senior Darius Watson (New Britain, Conn.) has been named a 2014 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III All-American. Watson, one the Falcons’ three 2,000-point scorers in program history, has been named to the Division III All-America Second Team.

    Albertus Magnus College men’s basketball head coach Mitch Oliver, senior Darius Watson (New Britain, Conn.), and junior Victor Ljuljdjuraj (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) have been recognized by D3hoops.com as Oliver was named The 2014 All-Northeast Region Coach of the Year, while Watson and Ljuljdjuraj earned All-Northeast Region First Team and Fourth Team honors, respectively.

    The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Tuesday morning the rosters for the 2014 Reese’s Division III College All-Star game, which will be played as part of the 2014 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship this weekend. Albertus Magnus senior Darius Watson (New Britain, Conn.) has been selected to the Reese’s East All-Star Team.

The 13th national ranking puts the Falcons in the Top-25 for an eighth-straight week. Last week, the Falcons were #14 and have moved up one spot from a week ago after winning their third-straight Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament title.

The match-up will take place on Friday, March 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Purchase University, home of the 19th-ranked Purchase Panthers.

With the win, the Falcons will now play in the GNAC Championship contest for the third-straight year. They will take on St. Joseph’s College of Maine on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the final in New Haven.
