  • 2016-17 GNAC Academic All-Conference Honorees Announced

    Winthrop, Mass. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced its All-Academic Team for the 2016-17 school year. This year, 57 student-athletes from Albertus Magnus College were among the 893 members of the Academic Team from 12 full-time institutions and 12 associate member institutions in the conference.
  • Fortier Named to NFCA Northeast Second-Team

    Louisville, Ky. – Junior Gillian Fortier (Naugatuck, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College softball team has been named to the 2017 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Northeast Second Team. This is the second time in Fortier's collegiate career she has received this year-end honor from the NFCA.

    Providence, R.I. – The Albertus Magnus College softball team defeated Norwich University, 15-5, in six innings on Saturday afternoon as part of the double elimination portion of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament. Following the win, the Falcons will face Saint Joseph’s of Maine in game 10 at 8 p.m.

The fourth-seeded Falconss will now face top-seeded Johnson & Wales at 5:30 p.m.

The Monks stole game one from the Falcons, 3-2, but the hosts bounced back in the night cap, 6-0.

    Boston, Mass. - Behind a five home run performance, including two home runs a piece from junior Gillian Fortier (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Melissa Castillo (Taftville, Conn.), the Albertus Magnus College softball team swept GNAC foe Emmanuel (Mass.) College on Saturday afternoon at Clemente Field. The Falcons took game one 5-1 before rallying back in game two, 6-5, after Castillo hit a two-run blast in the top of the seventh to give the Falcons the walk-off win.

The Falcons’ nine-game winning streak came to an end after falling 9-4 in game one, but the visitors bounced back in the night cap, edging the Dolphins 15-10.

Freshman Laura Anderson (East Haven, Conn.) tied the game up, 3-3, after she allowed Brianna Whitfield (West Islip, N.Y.) to score off a sacrifice fly to center field.
