  • Jeff Bricker Named Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach

    New Haven, CT - Albertus Magnus College Director of Athletics Michael Spinner has announced the hiring of Jeff Bricker as Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach. Bricker, who currently works as Head Tennis Professional Instructor at the New Haven Lawn Club, brings to Albertus a successful track record teaching and coaching tennis, including stints as an Assistant Tennis Professional at the Madison Beach and Guilford Swim and Racquet Clubs.

The Falcons received strong play from freshman Deanna Gaudio (New Haven, CT/North Haven) and junior Nanette Arencibia (Miami, FL/Southwest).

    Boston, MA - The Albertus Magnus College Women's Tennis team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match to host Emerson College 9-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Falcons struggled to find their rhythm and were defeated in straight sets by an Emerson team that remains in second place in GNAC play. Emerson improves to 10-1, 7-1 GNAC while Albertus drops to 1-11, 1-7 GNAC.

The Falcons battled through the match but struggled to find their rhythm. Sophomore Chantal Simmons (East Harlem, NY/TWILS) played well in the loss for Albertus.

Freshman Deanna Gaudio (New Haven, CT) won her singles match 6-2, 6-1. Gaudio and sophomore Chantal Simmons (East Harlem, NY) won the #1 doubles match with an 8-1 victory.

    The Albertus Magnus College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the release of the 2010 Women's Tennis Schedule. The Lady Falcons graduated four seniors last season including their #1 and #2 singles players in Amanda Maurer (Hillsboro, NH) and Kendra Dowen (Middlesex, VT). Coach Palmer will rely on returning players Justine Compton (Hamden, CT), Chantal Simmons (East Harlem, NY), Rebecca Shokite, (Fairfield, CT), and Nanette Arencibia (Miami, FL) playing a big role in what the Lady Falcons hope to accomplish this season.
