Directions to Shea Softball Complex
The new complex will serve as home field for the softball team, with dugouts, bull pens, and additional practice space for other Albertus teams. NO METAL CLEATS ARE TO BE WORN ON FIELD.
The facility will also allow the college to expand its offerings of men’s and women’s varsity sports, intramurals, community groups and student programs.
Carol Ann Shea, Class of 1945, and James O’Connor Shea, her brother, bequeathed $3.7 million and $1.1 million, respectively, to Albertus. It was the largest unrestricted bequest the college has ever received.
Carol Ann Shea was an Albertus alumna and an associate professor at Southern Connecticut State University. She held a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. She died at age 90 in 2015. James O’Connor Shea shared his sister’s respect for the education offered at Albertus.
