HOW IT HAPPENED
Lasell kicked off the conference doubleheader with a lone-run in the bottom of the first to take the early advantage over the Falcons. Ross Audet led off with a double to right field before crossing home following back-to-back stolen bases.

A half-inning later, Albertus evened the score at 1-1 following a wild pitch from CJ Mills that allowed Jason Sullivan (Meriden, Conn.) to score from third and advance Alex Kozlowski (Shelton, Conn.) from second to third. The Falcons' momentum started to pick up with two outs on the scoreboard, as Joseph Matthews (Anaheim, Calif.) hit a deep ball into the outfield, allowing Kozlowski to score and giving the Falcons their first lead of the day, 2-1.

Lasell countered in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on seven hits, including a two-run RBI double from Tyrek Robinson, to take a commanding 6-2 lead.

Albertus did not get on the scoreboard again until the top of the sixth inning, when Sullivan turned on a pitch that he sent over the right-field fence for his first home run of the season. Sullivan's home run cut the Laser lead in half, 6-3, heading into the bottom of the inning.

The Lasers exploded in the second half of the sixth, scoring an additional seven runs, as the hosts capitalized on three errors and took advantage of the Falcons' bullpen.

Albertus tried to mount a rally in the top of the seventh as Tyler Baldwin (Cromwell, Conn.) led off the inning by reaching first on an error by the third baseman. During Caden Cloutier's (Wallingford, Conn.) at-bat, Baldwin managed to steal second and tried to get the Falcons' offensive unit fired up, but the visitors could not get anything going and lost game one by a final score of 13-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
This time around, Albertus opened the game with a lone run in the top of the first behind a home run from Matt Warren (Wolcott, Conn.). With two outs, Warren found a pitch he liked and smashed the ball over the right-field fence for his 15th-career home run.

Then in the following inning, Albertus struck again, this time from Kozlowski, who reached on a fielder's choice and drove in Justen Rodriguez (Waterbury, Conn.) from third for the second run of the game, following a lead-off single from Rodriguez.

In the bottom of the second, Lasell's Sullivan cut the lead in half, 2-1, on a home run to right-center, but solid defense from the visitors stranded the tying run on first.

The Falcons continued to add runs in the third inning, building its advantage to two runs, 3-1, with a Sullivan double. Following a Warren two-out walk, Sullivan smashed a double to plate warren from first.

Not to be outdone, the Lasers knotted the score at 3-3 in the bottom of the third inning behind four hits. With runners on second and third and one out, Danaher singled through the right side of the infield for the first run. With two outs, Harrison Silva brought in the second run with a single of his own to tie the score.

After the fourth inning went as the game's first scoreless frame, Albertus retook the lead, 5-3, with a two-run fifth. With runners on the corners, Warren hit an infield single to plate Matthews from third. Sullivan followed in the next at-bat with a single of his own to bring Brandon Clark (Cheshire, Conn.) home. Unfortunately, for the Falcons, they would strand two runners to end the inning by getting three consecutive outs.

Albertus added an insurance run in the top of the sixth inning to take a 6-3 advantage. Clark continued his stellar day, plating Kozlowski from third with a single through the left side.

Clark's RBI stood as the game's final run, as the Falcons held on to earn a series split. Sean Jefferson (West Haven, Conn.) tossed all 7.0 innings for Albertus, allowing three runs on seven hits with a pair of strikeouts. The victory is the second of the sophomore righty's career.
