NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team kicked off the 2019 campaign with a victory over Purchase College, 340-359, at the Alling Memorial Golf Course. Ryan Sember (Branford, Conn.) paced the team with a final score of 77 (+5) to lead the Falcons to their first dual-match win since Oct. 07, 2016.

NOTES
- The Falcons' low scorer on the day, Sember, became the first Albertus golfer to card a sub-80 round since Jason Brennan (East Haven, Conn.) logged a six-over 78 on Sep. 21, 2018.
- Sember, David Aquavia (Oakville, Conn.) and Liam Dean (Branford, Conn.) all made their debuts for the Falcons in today's match.
- Albertus' last victory came against Eastern Nazarene at the Alling Memorial Golf Course in 2016.
- Today's win marks the fourth triumph in the program's short history.

UP NEXT
The men's golf team returns to the course on Thursday, Sept. 12, to take part in the MCLA Invitational. The tournament is slated to begin at 10 a.m. at the Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield, Mass. with a shotgun start.
