Falcons Fall to Saint Joseph’s College (Maine) 8-2

Despite a 2-for-3 performance from Krista LaBissoniere (Meriden, Conn.), the Albertus Magnus softball team fell to Saint Joseph's College of Maine 8-2 in game two of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference double-header on Saturday night.

With the scored tied at two after three complete innings, the Monks tallied three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to cruise to the conference victory. The Monks recorded 12 hits in the contest as the Falcons tallied five, while both teams recorded three errors a piece.

LaBissoniere led the Falcons with two hits, including a double, while Shannon Knox (Hamden, Conn.), Elaina Maio (West Haven, Conn.), and Aimee Mirto (Hamden, Conn.) each added a hit as well.

Danielle Thuerling (Wallingford, Conn.) threw a complete game but allowed 12 hits and seven earned runs in her fourth loss of the season. Kayla Vannah earned the win for the Monks as she allowed five hits and two runs in seven innings of action on the mound.
