The Albertus Magnus softball team fell to Norwich 7-1 in game two of its Saturday afternoon double-header in Northfield, Vt. Led by Elaina Maio (West Haven, Conn.), the Falcons scored their lone run in the top of the third inning before losing the GNAC contest.

After the Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the third, Norwich took control of the game in the bottom of the frame with three runs to take a 3-1 lead. In Albertus' half inning, Maio recorded an RBI single to plate Danielle Figueroa (Bridgeport, Conn.) to give the Falcons their only lead of the contest.

Norwich added four more runs to their tally in the bottom of the fifth and finished the game with seven runs on 12 hits.

Melissa Manning (Milford, Conn.) took the loss on the hill for the Falcons as she threw the complete game.

Norwich was led by Briana Day with a 2-for-3 performance, three runs scored and four RBI. Day also hit a home run in the contest.
