
Norwich's Corinne Baita allowed just three Falcon hits in six shutout innings of work as the Cadets went on to defeat the Albertus Magnus softball team 6-0 in game one of the afternoon double-header.
Norwich scored two runs in the third and four in the fifth en route to their 6-0 victory over the Falcons. With the loss, Albertus drops to 10-14 on the year and 6-10 in league play, while Norwich improves to 12-9 overall and 6-9 in GNAC action.
Albertus registered just four hits in today's contest and was led by freshman Rebecca Slivinsky (Plainville, Conn.) with a 2-for-3 performance.
Danielle Thuerling (Wallingford, Conn.) took the loss on the hill as she went six innings to fall to 7-11 on the year. Thuerling gave up 10 hits and three earned runs, while striking out six and walking one.
Kaylie Miller led Norwich in the win with a 3-for-4 outing and one run scored.
Albertus returns to action on Tuesday, April 10 as the Falcons travel to St. Elizabeth for a non-conference double-header.
