Albertus Magnus softball head coach Ed Emielita has been named the 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Coach of the Year as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Emielita led the Falcons to their best season in over a decade as they are currently 24-13 on the year. The Falcons' 24 wins mark the most ever recorded in a single season by the program.
Most recently, the Falcons battled their way into the GNAC Tournament Championship game after earning the #2 seed in the postseason tournament.
Emielita is the 11th Albertus Magnus coach to earn GNAC Coach of the Year honors and the first-ever Albertus softball coach to earn the recognition. He is the first Albertus coach to be named Coach of the Year since 2012.
