WINTHROP, Mass. - For the first time this season, fifth-year senior Laura Anderson (East Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College softball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week, as announced Monday evening by the league office, after her stellar performance in the circle this past weekend.

Anderson was lights out in the Falcons' sweep of Dean on Saturday, as the senior pitcher tossed all but one inning of both games while giving up zero earned runs on her way to two victories. In the opener, the East Haven, Conn., native went all 7.0 innings of a 7-1 Falcons' win, striking out three while allowing just four hits. She then pitched 6.0 innings of relief in game two, allowing zero runs with six strikeouts to lead Albertus to an 8-2 triumph. 

The Falcons are back in action this week with a conference doubleheader showdown against Johnson & Wales University on Saturday, April 17. Game times are set for 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM in Providence, R.I.
