WINTHROP, Mass. – Following another scorching stretch of play last week, Albertus Magnus College softball senior utility player Ivy Geloso (Beacon Falls, Conn.) was named the Co-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Softball Player of the Week, her second such honor of the season.
Geloso recorded yet another impressive week for the Falcons as she went 8-for-12 (.667) at the plate with eight RBIs, eight runs scored, two home runs, one triple, two doubles, and a stolen base. Geloso tallied a slash line of .667/.733/1.500 over four contests, with the week's highlight coming in game one against Lasell University when she went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, two home runs, and four RBIs. Albertus went a perfect 4-0 over those games, extending its win streak to 20 games.
The Falcons will return to the diamond on Saturday, April 23, to play a league doubleheader against the Cadets of Norwich University. The opening game of the twin bill is slated to start at 1 p.m. at the Shea Softball Complex.
