HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Similar to game one, the Falcons first baserunner reached base as Scheid reached base on a dropped third strike and made it to third base with two outs but the Falcons did not convert.
  • In the bottom of game two, Ashe once again drove in two runs on a double to give the Anchorwomen a 2-0 lead.
  • Both teams went scorelesss over the next three innings as Albertus starting pitcher Annabelle Jabs (East Hartland, Conn.) retired 11 straight batters and kept the Falcons in the game.
  • In the top of the fifth, the Falcons scored their first run of the day as Larforte hit an RBI single to score Gianna Carrano (West Haven, Conn.), who hit a one-out single earlier in the inning. Albertus, however, would leave two runners on base. The Anchorwomen then scored two in the bottom of the inning, including another RBI single by Ashe to put them up 4-1. They'd tack on one more run in the bottom of the sixth for the funal run of the game.
