FRANKLIN, MASS. — Across a pair of games, the Albertus Magnus College softball team drove in 17 total runs for a doubleheader victory over Great Northeast Athletic Conference opponent Dean College on Saturday, with five coming off the bats of Alexis Enjem (Derby, Conn.) and four from Skylar Arent (Ridgefield, Conn.) and Amanda Savinelli (New Haven, Conn.). HOW IT HAPPENED

  • With the bases loaded by Falcons, Enjem drew a walk to easily bring home Erin Molkenthin (East Haddam, Conn.) for the first run by Albertus in the second inning after the senior was struck by a pitch to lead off the frame.
  • Two batters later, Savinelli singled to centerfield but was afforded an extra base of the deep through from the outfield to bring home Isabelle Smith (Meriden, Conn.) and Colleen Edwards (Clinton, Conn.) and Enjem darted to third base in a prime location for the next at-bat. The Falcons returned to the top of the batting order as Paige Scheid (Cedar Grove, N.J.) stepped to the plate and reached first base off a throwing error by the shortshop before advancing to second, giving breathing room to Enjem and Savinelli to score.
  • Hailey Laforte (Branford, Conn.) tacked on another run for the Falcons to put the visitors up in the second inning, 6-0, after the graduate student singled through the left side and drove Scheid home. Albertus tallied three more runs in the second frame before Laforte tripled in the third inning to bring home Arent.
  • The home team continued its onslaught of runs with three more in the fourth inning as Edwards, Enjem and Julianna Petruzziello (West Haven, Conn.) each recorded a run in three straight at-bats.
  • In the top of the fourth, Dean notched its only run of the contest off a wild pitch.
