FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Albertus Magnus College softball team was swept in a non-conference doubleheader, 6-0, 6-1 on Wednesday evening to Farmingdale State.

Colleen Edwards (Clinton, Conn.) drove in the lone run for the Falcons on the day. Karla Carangelo (Cheshire, Conn.), Isabelle Smith (Meriden, Conn.) and Mikaela Scwhippert (Whippany, N.J.) each had two hits in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The two teams were scoreless through the first three and a half innings as Albertus starting pitcher Annabelle Jabs (East Hartland, Conn.) kept the Rams off the scoreboard, allowing just one hit over that time frame and striking out three.
• Farmingdale State was able to get on the board with three runs in the fourth inning as Samantha Stolfi hit an RBI triple to start the scoring followed by RBI singles from Madison Startz and Isabella Marchini.
• The Rams scored three more in the bottom of the fifth, highlighted by another RBI single by Sturtz.
• The Falcons were held to just four hits.

• The Rams scored a run in each of the first four innings, including RBI singles by Stolfi, Marchini and Angelina Capuano.
• The Falcons had runners on base in each of the first five innings, including runners on second and third in the second inning, but were unable to score.
• Albertus broke through in the top of the sixth for a run. After one-out singles by Scwhippert and Carangelo, Edwards reached on a fielder's choice that scored Scwhippert. Albertus had runners on first and second base later in the inning but were unable to get another run across.
• The Rams scored two more times in the sixth inning, including a triple by Bailey Hammock.
