CHICOPEE, Mass. - The Albertus Magnus College softball team left no doubt in each of their wins over Elms College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader, defeating the Blazers 12-1 and 13-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Mikaela Scwhippert (Whippany, N.J.) went 5-for-6 over the course of the two games with a homer, two doubles and seven RBI. Gianna Carrano (West Haven, Conn.) went 5-for-7 with two RBI and four runs scored on the day. Skylar Arent (Ridgefield, Conn.) went 3-for-5 with four RBI and four runs and earned the win in game two.
Isabelle Smith (Meriden, Conn.) had a triple, scored six runs and drove in two. Karla Carangelo (Cheshire, Conn.) had three RBI and a run scored.
Annabelle Jabs (East Hartland, Conn.) picked up the win in game one, pitching three innings and allowing just two hits.
The Falcons have won their last four games and sit in first place in the GNAC South Division.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons scored two in the first inning with the first run coming on a wild pitch that scored Smith, who walked to lead off the inning. They'd score another on an RBI groundout by Carangelo that scored Carrano, who singled earlier in the inning.
- The Falcons took a 6-0 lead after the second inning, including an RBI single by Arent. Colleen Edwards (Clinton, Conn.) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded that plated another run.
- In the bottom of the second, Jabs got out of a bases loaded jam to keep it a 6-0 game.
- Albertus scored three more times in the top of the third as Scwhippert hit a two-run double that scored Arent and Smith, making it a 9-0 game.
- After Elms added a run in the bottom of the fourth, the Falcons scored three more in the fifth inning as Arent hit a two-run single and Izzy Barreiro (Brookfield, Conn.) had an RBI single. The game ended after five innings due to the mercy rule.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Once again, the Falcons got off to a hot start, scoring three runs in the first inning. After Albertus loaded the bases with singles by Carrano and Scwhippert and a walk to Arent, Carangelo ripped a double to left center to score two runs. A sacrifice fly by Edwards made it a 3-0 game.
- Albertus scored two more in the top of the second on a two-run double by Scwhippert to score Smith and Gabby Rubino, putting the Falcons up, 5-0.
- Arent cruised through three innings, not allowing a hit during her start and striking out four. She also added an RBI single in the fourth inning, as the Falcons too a 6-0 lead.
- The Falcons put the game away in the seventh inning, scoring seven runs. Carrano and Amelia Boulli walked and Scwhippert sent her second homer of the season over the left field fence to make it a 9-0 game. Rubino brought home a run on an RBI groundout and Smith tripled to score two runs, making it a 12-0 game. Carrano added an RBI single for the final run.
