Women's Lacrosse Weekly Preview: JWU & Rivier

Last Week: The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team went 0-2 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play last week, falling on the road to Emmanuel, 19-0, before losing at home to Saint Joseph's (Maine), 27-0, over the weekend. Albertus Magnus enters the week with an 0-5 overall mark and an 0-2 record in GNAC action. In the two setbacks last week, freshman goalkeeper Lexie Fenn recorded 23 saves. Defensively, classmate Taylor Bisaillon registered six ground balls and three caused turnovers.

This Week: The Falcons welcome conference foe Johnson & Wales to New Haven in midweek action before traveling to square off with Rivier this weekend.

Last Year Versus Johnson & Wales: The Wildcats scored an 11-1 victory against the Falcons at home last April. In the contest, Jenny Luna scored for AMC and eight different JWU players found the back of the net. Johnson & Wales held a 37-2 advantage in shots and won 10 of 14 draw controls.

Last Spring Against Rivier: The Raiders earned a 19-5 triumph in New Haven in March of 2015. Rivier scored 15 tallies in the first and outscored the Falcons, 4-2, over the final 30 minutes to earn the win. Amanda Montano led the AMC charge with two goals and a team-high five ground balls, while Luna added one marker and three caused turnovers.

Albertus Notes:
- Albertus Magnus has been shutout in back-to-back games and is looking to end a 121-minute scoreless in game action.
- This spring, Fenn has made 50 saves to go along with a .410 save percentage in the cage.
- Offensively, freshman Aida Sarr has a team-best seven points (6G, 1A), while senior captain Miranda Jassil has added six tallies.  Fenn leads the squad with 13 ground balls, while both Jassil and Bisaillon have 12 apiece.
- Defensively, Bisaillon has a team-high 10 caused turnovers and Jassil has added seven of her own.
