  • 2012-13 GNAC All-Academic Team Announced

    The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced the All-Academic Team for the 2012-13 school year. Thirty-six student-athletes from Albertus Magnus College were among the 757 members of the Academic Team from 13 full-time institutions and 12 affiliate member institutions in the conference. The student-athletes selected had to meet the following criteria: maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average, complete at least one full season of competition at a GNAC institution and is of sophomore status academically.

    Senior captain Krista LaBissoniere (Meriden, Conn.) earned a coveted spot in the New England Women’s Volleyball Association’s (NEWVA) DIII Senior Classic, after she helped lead the Falcons to 12 wins, their most since the 1996 season when the program finished the year 10-7.

  • Falcon Athletes Come Together for Volunteer Campus Clean-Up

    Hurricane Sandy, which left a path of destruction, flooding and power outages throughout the East Coast earlier this week, left quite a mess on the Albertus Magnus College campus. The Albertus Athletic Department, along with many of its student-athletes, quickly sprang into action, setting up a volunteer campus clean-up on Thursday, November 1.

    The Albertus Magnus women’s volleyball team fell to Emerson College 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-14) on Sunday afternoon as the Lions remain unbeaten in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. The Falcons’ loss breaks a five-game win streak that Albertus held since its October 8th match against Suffolk.
  • Falcons Dominate in 3-0 win at Pine Manor

    Freshman Isebel Lopez (West Haven, Conn.) recorded a team-high seven kills as the Albertus Magnus women’s volleyball team dominated play in a 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-16) win at Pine Manor College. The Falcons recorded 24 kills in their 12th victory of the season as they improve to 12-9 on the year.

  • Falcons Earn 10th Win of Season; Down Castleton 3-1

    The Albertus Magnus women’s volleyball team earned its 10th victory of the season as the Falcons defeated Castleton 3-1 in non-conference action on Thursday evening. With their 10th victory of 2012, the Falcons have tied their 1996 tally of 10 victories in a single season, the most for the program since joining the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in 1996.
  • Volleyball Sets Program Record in Wins as Falcons Blank Mass Maritime 3-0

    With a 3-0 win over Massachusetts Maritime, the Albertus Magnus women's volleyball team earned its 11th overall victory in the 2012 season. With the win, the Falcons have surpassed their 10-win season in 1996 and now have the most wins in a single-season in program history.
  • Manning’s 14 Kills Lifts Falcons Over Blue Jays 3-2

    Junior Melissa Manning (Milford, Conn.) recorded 14 kills and nine digs to lift the Albertus Magnus women’s volleyball to a 3-2 victory over the University of Saint Joseph Blue Jays on Monday night. After winning the first two sets, USJ battled back and earned consecutive wins to tie the match at two sets apiece before the Falcons earned their ninth win of the season.
  • Women’s Volleyball Rallies to Down Suffolk 3-1

    Led by nine kills and 25 digs from Nicole Acerra (East Haven, Conn.), the Albertus Magnus women’s volleyball team rallied from behind 1-0 to take a 3-1 victory over Suffolk University on Monday afternoon in GNAC action.

    In the first match of a Saturday afternoon tri-match hosted by Albertus Magnus College, the Emmanuel College Saints (4-11, 1-0 GNAC) took on host Albertus Magnus in a battle of Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foes. The Falcons (5-6, 0-3 GNAC) came into the match flying high after earning their fifth win of the season earlier this week at home against Mass Maritime.
