    On Friday, Oct. 21, Albertus Magnus College inducted its Class of 2011 into its Athletics Hall of Fame. The newest members include Natalia Perlaza, Jay Wyatt, Tim Russell and Candice Giordano Damico.

    Albertus Magnus College will induct four former student-athletes into its Class of 2011 Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday, Oct. 21. The newest members of the Hall of Fame include two-sport athlete Candice Giordano Damico ’03; women’s basketball’s Natalia Perlaza ’05, men’s basketball’s Tim Russell ’05, and baseball’s Jason “Jay” Wyatt ’03.

    Danbury, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Baseball team concluded their 2011 season with a split against host Western Connecticut State University on Monday afternoon. The first game saw the young Falcons make crucial mistakes that led to a 7-4 defeat. The second game featured the Falcons winning a 5-4 decision after taking a 5-1 lead early.

    Waltham, MA - The Albertus Magnus College Baseball team saw their five game winning streak snapped by host Lasell College 8-5 on Tuesday night. The Falcons lost late in the game after taking the 5-4 lead following a four run rally in the top of the seventh inning before giving four runs back in the bottom of the eighth.

    New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Baseball team stretched it's winning streak to three games with their sweep on Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Norwich University on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons cruised to a 4-1 victory in game one before defeating Norwich 6-4 in game two.

    New Haven, CT - The baseball doubleheader scheduled to be played at 1:00 pm against visiting Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Johnson and Wales University has been postponed due to wet field conditions following last night's heavy rainfall. The Softball games scheduled to be played in Standish, ME against St. Joseph's College (ME) have also been postponed.

The Falcons dropped the first game 5-4 in extra innings while dropping falling 7-3 in game two.

The Falcons return to action on Thursday afternoon when they take on Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent St. Joseph's College (ME) for a doubleheader that starts at 3:00 pm.

    Westfield, MA - Westfield State was able to hold on for the 5-3 victory on Thursday afternoon as a late Albertus rally came up short in the ninth inning. Westfield State University jumped out to an early 4-2 lead and held on to defeat Albertus Magnus College, 5-3, in a nonconference baseball game on Thursday, April 7.

The young Falcons feature just four seniors and 11 newcomers to the 2011 team. Albertus looks to return to the post season as last season marked the first time in the last 6 seasons that the Falcons failed to reach the playoffs.
