  • DeCarli named Conference SID of the Year

    Albertus Magnus College Assistant Director of Athletics/Sports Information Director Kristen DeCarli was voted the 2012 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Sports Information Director of the Year. The announcement was made by GNAC Commissioner Joe Walsh in advance of the 2012 GNAC Professional Development Seminar on August 7 and 8 in Boston, Massachusetts. DeCarli will accept her award on the final day of the seminar.
  • 2011-12 GNAC All-Academic Team Announced

    The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced the All-Academic Team for the 2011-12 school year. Twenty-two student-athletes from Albertus Magnus College were among the 618 members of the Academic Team from 14 institutions in the conference.

    The Albertus Magnus Department of Athletics had a very successful 2011-12 year, producing two GNAC Regular-Season Championship teams, one GNAC Tournament Championship team, two All-Americans and 33 All-Conference Team selections.
  • Celebrate Frankie’s Birthday/Student-Athlete Appreciation Day

    Albertus Magnus College will celebrate the birthday of its mascot, Frankie the Falcon, in honor of Student-Athlete Appreciation Day on April 4. Student-Athlete Appreciation Day is honored annually on April 6 but with the day falling on Good Friday, Frankie’s birthday will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 4 at noon in the DeDominicis Dining Hall.
  • Brown, Carrero Named to GNAC All-Conference Third Team

    Senior Bianca Brown (West Haven, Conn.) and sophomore Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.) have been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Third Team. The honors mark the first for both Falcons after they led their squad to a 14-12 showing on the year.

    The Albertus Magnus women’s basketball team dropped an 89-51 decision to Saint Joseph’s College of Maine on Tuesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference quarterfinal action. Lindsay Karle (Wallingford, Conn.) led the way for the Falcons as she finished with 16 points.

    The Albertus Magnus women’s basketball team will make its 12th Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament appearance on Tuesday as the seventh-seeded Falcons head to Standish, Maine to take on No. 2 Saint Joseph’s College in a quarterfinal match-up. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.

    Lindsay Karle (Wallingford, Conn.) scored 20 points to lead the Albertus Magnus women’s basketball team to a 71-61 Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory over Lasell on Saturday afternoon. Karle played 37 minutes for the Falcons, while shooting 7-of-19 from the floor.

Both Falcons combined for a showing of 19-of-22 from the free-throw line.
