    New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Women's Basketball team used a late second half run and saw the game tying basket rim out as they dropped a heartbreaker to Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Pine Manor College 69-67. The Falcons trailed 69-67 with 9.3 seconds remaining with the ball. Following an Albertus time-out, the Falcons executed the play to near perfection with the open jumper in the lane rimming out and Pine Manor College grabbing the rebound.

    New Haven, CT - Freshman guard Lianna Carrero (Hamden, CT/Hamden) scored a team high 23 points on 10-14 shooting including 3-4 from beyond the three point line to lead Albertus Magnus over visiting Newbury College 85-61. The Falcons also received a double-double from senior forward Bianca Brown who scored 19 points and grabbed a team high 10 rebounds.

    New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Women's Basketball team was defeated 58-52 by visiting Curry College after a late second half run by the Falcons came up short. Albertus trailed 50-39 with 4:48 remaining in the second half before a 10-3 run cut the lead to 53-49 with just over two minutes remaining. The Falcons would get no closer as their late second half rally fell short.

    Chestnut Hill, MA - Senior forward Bianca Brown (West Haven, CT/Career) totaled a game-high 20 points and five steals to go along with a team-high 12 rebounds and three blocks as the Falcons defeated host Wheelock College 66-53 on Saturday afternoon. Albertus used a 13-3 run in the second half to pull away for the victory. The Falcons would not relinquish the lead for the final 11:06 in the second half.

The Falcons had four players in double figures including freshman guard Lianna Carrero (Hamden, CT/Hamden) who led all scorers with a game-high 14 points and team-high six rebounds.
  • Falcons Drop Season Opener to Rhode Island College

    Providence, RI - The Albertus Magnus College Women's Basketball team dropped it's season opener 95-34. The Falcons played without GNAC Player of the year Kendrea Walker who was out with an injury. Poor shooting and turnovers plagued the young Falcons who shot just 24 percent (14-59) from the field and struggled from behind the three point line (2-20).

    The Albertus Magnus College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the release of the 2010-2011 Women's Basketball Schedule. The Falcons finished 13-14, 8-4 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) last season losing in the Semi-Finals to Host Norwich University 80-57. The 2010 Falcons finished a remarkable run at the end of the season winning five of their last six contests entering the GNAC Semifinals.
